The Makeham family have been breeding Border Leicester Sheep since 1957 when Jeff Makeham first purchased 4 ewes from Yarrison Stud and a Ram from Harakeke Stud in New Zealand. The original stud was named Taringa Downs and located at Walcha NSW. The stud was registered a few years after Jeff started breeding.
